Cupra, the Spanish high-performance and electric brand spun off from SEAT, has announced its special offers for the upcoming 252 registration period in July, and it's focusing on the brand's newly-arrived long-range plug-in hybrid models.
Which models are the plug-in hybrids?
Those models - the Leon hatch and estate, the Formentor crossover, and the Terramar SUV - now come with bigger batteries and more efficient petrol engines, meaning that they can manage up to 130km of electric-only range, and are still frugal on longer journeys. They can also be charged from rapid DC public charging points, which is handy on those long journeys.
The Terramar - a large, family-friendly, five-seat SUV - is the latest model to arrive, so let's start with that. It has up to 119km of all-electric range when charged up, and you can get one for €369 per month, on 3.9 per cent APR PCP finance. Cupra will also throw in a complimentary optional 'Edge Pack', worth €1,018, which includes advanced keyless entry, alarm, smart interior wraparound lighting, electric tailgate with 'virtual pedal,' adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel, illuminated scuff plates in the door apertures, dark tinted windows, and power heated exterior mirrors.
What about the Formentor?
The Formentor is a little more familiar, but it has been updated with new styling and an upgraded interior, plus the new plug-in hybrid system, which gives it up to 136km of electric driving on a full charge. Monthly repayments start from €339 per month on a 2.9 per cent APR PCP finance package, and Cupra will give you a free upgrade to the Edge Pack, which in the Formentor includes advanced keyless entry, alarm, smart interior wraparound lighting, rear-view camera, and the electric tailgate with 'virtual pedal,' all of which would normally cost you €1,697.
Finally, there's the Cupra Leon, also re-styled and upgraded recently. It comes with up to 132km of all-electric range, and you can buy one for €439 per month on a 2.9 per cent APR PCP finance package. The Edge Pack is again included, and comes with keyless entry, alarm, smart interior wraparound lighting, and a rear-view camera, all of which would normally cost €823.
Any offers for the all-electric Cupra models?
As well as the PHEV lineup, Cupra also has some special offers for the all-electric Born hatchback and Tavascan SUV. Order one of those in May or June and Cupra will double the SEAI grant contribution of €3,500 to €7,000. The Born is available from €279 per month with 3.9 per cent APR PCP Finance, and the Tavascan is available from €319 per month with 3.9 per cent APR PCP Finance. To help with charging, Cupra will also give buyers a complimentary €875 public charging voucher, which they reckon will get you 5,000km worth of free charging when you're out and about.
