Opel ties up with TomTom

Semi-integrated TomTom navigation to be offered by Opel from December.

From December, drivers of Opel cars will no longer be able to use the excuse of getting lost when they arrive late for an appointment, as the Astra, Corsa, Meriva, Combo and Insignia will come fitted with the latest TomTom Connect units.

The TomTom systems will come equipped with car-specific cradles that charge the units and have apparently been crash tested, meaning drivers can enjoy the latest HD Traffic system that gives them the fastest route to their destination based on the latest traffic situation in comfort.

"Opel and TomTom have been working closely together to offer Opel and Vauxhall drivers the full advantages of real time navigation services", says Giles Shrimpton, Managing Director TomTom Automotive. "This is an important step in our relationship and I look forward to developing the opportunities this brings for both companies."
