Munster gets Hybrid power

Munster Rugby gets new Toyota Auris Hybrid jerseys to wear at home Heineken Cup pool games until the end of January.

Munster Rugby is getting a slight change of strip with the 'Toyota Auris Hybrid' logo replacing the normal Toyota logo.

The new jerseys celebrate the launch of the new Auris HSD (Hybrid). This is the first model in Ireland to benefit from the technology since the launch of the Prius.  In addition Toyota will launch three more hybrid models in Ireland in 2012.

Charities will benefit from the limited edition jerseys with seventeen examples to be donated to a charity for fundraising.  The public can nominate causes in February through Toyota's Facebook page.  The jerseys will be awarded following the climax of the Heineken Cup pool stages in January.  Munster Rugby will donate three shirts to its preferred charities and the remaining three will go to the Munster Supporters Club.

David Shannon, Managing Director of Toyota Ireland described the jerseys as a great way to raise awareness of the Auris HSD and the company's hybrid models.  Shannon added, "The fact that charities will benefit from the donation of the 23 special edition jerseys after the Heineken Cup pool stage will hopefully mean that much needed funds can be raised for worthy causes at a difficult time of year for charities."

The new look Jerseys made their debut at Munster's first round Heineken Cup pool clash with Northampton Saints at Thomond Park yesterday (12th November), where Munster stole victory in the last play of the game following an unprecedented 41 phases.
