New Renault Scenic electric Scenic starts from €39,995 in Ireland.

Renault’s big, long-ranged new electric Scenic E-Tech SUV has just had its prices for the Irish market announced, and it’s a more affordable car than you might have thought.

430km range in basic form

In fact, including the SEAI grant of €3,500, the new Scenic has an Irish starting price of €39,995. That gets you an entry-level model in Evolution trim, with the 170hp front-wheel-drive electric motor and a 60kWh battery that’s good for an official 430km on one charge.

The new Scenic E-Tech electric comes in four trim levels: Evolution, Techno, Esprit Alpine and Iconic. The Scenic is the first fully electric vehicle in Renault’s line-up to include the sporty Esprit Alpine trim.

That €39,995 Evolution model comes with 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s instrument panel, a 9.0-inch infotainment screen, seats made from a woven recycled material and a range-saving heat-pump system.

Bigger battery with up to 625km range

Spend €41,995 and you upgrade the same 60kWh battery and 170hp motor to Techno specification, which includes a 12-inch infotainment screen with built-in Google software and apps, upgraded upholstery, a trick rear centre armrest with built-in tablet and phone holders as well as USB-C charging points, and an electric tailgate.

Then, €48,995 gets you a Techno-spec Scenic with the larger 87kWh battery, a 220hp electric motor, and a potential 625km range on one charge, with Renault saying that the battery will last for around three hours of continuous motorway running (and that’s on French motorways, which have a 130km/h speed limit).

Sporty Esprit Alpine trim

For €51,495, there's the Esprit Alpine model, which as noted gets a sporty body kit, cabin trim and bucket seats, as well as polished black 20-inch alloy wheels, satin grey exterior trim and Alpine badges. It comes with the bigger battery and more powerful motor as standard.

Finally, for €54,795 there’s the top-spec Iconic model, which includes diamond-polished 20-inch alloys, an upgraded driver assistance system and a nine-speaker Harmon/Kardon stereo. All models come with 22kW AC charging as standard. The 60kWh battery can charge at up to 130kW on DC fast charging power, while the larger battery can manage up to 150kW.
