Kia reveals sexy GT

One of the stars of the Frankfurt Show is undoubtedly the Kia GT concept.

What is it?

Kia's first crack at a performance car, albeit in concept form. The GT Concept is a contender for the most striking car of the show - there's a hint of Aston Martin One-77 about it from the front, along with pillar-less doors (the rear ones open backwards like a Mazda RX-8's) and one of the swankiest looking interiors in the business.

Why's it here?

The GT Concept is a design exercise for Kia. It'll never appear in a showroom and we're struggling to see which bits of it will filter down to production level, but in terms of gathering interest at the Kia stand, it's a winner all round.

Show stopper or floor filler?

Definitely the former. If it ever makes it out of Kia's European HQ (which, incidentally, is next door to the motor show in Frankfurt), it's likely to make an impression on the tarmac, too. There's a 3.3-litre T-GDI turbocharged V6 under the bonnet with 395hp and 534Nm of torque.
