Aston One-77 on telly

The National Geographic channel will show us what the immaculate Aston One-77 factory looks like.

Automotive fans are in for a treat when the popular National Geographic series, Megafactories, returns to our screens on Sunday 4 September. Having already showcased the factories that build cars such as the Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Lamborghini Murcielago the new series is set to kick off with a visit to Aston Martin's Gaydon 'megafactory' to show how the Aston Martin One-77 went from concept to production.

Given un-paralleled access to the specially created One-77 facility within the company's Warwickshire global headquarters, Megafactories will detail some of the 2,700 man-hours that the dedicated One-77 technicians put in to creating the exclusive supercar that fuses modern technology with traditional hand-craftsmanship.

Filmed in high definition viewers will be able to see for the for the first time the laboratory-like workspace, with its open plan design and crisp white walls, ceilings and floors where the 27 specialist technicians piece together one of the 77 examples of the Aston Martin One-77.

'Megafactories: Aston Martin' launches the new series and premieres on Sunday 4 September, 2011 at 9.00pm on National Geographic. If you can't wait that long a trailer of the upcoming show is available at natgeotv.com/uk/megafactories/videos/aston-martin-supercar.
