Vettel 'designs' new Infiniti

Super SUV with Vettel's name on does 300km/h.

We normally don't do 'celebrity gets a free car' stories, but this one piqued our attention.

Red Bull Racing chief, Christian Horner, recently spoke of the company's desire to enter the road car market, most likely with a RBR badged Infiniti, but it looks like one of his employees may have got the jump on him.

Current Formula One World Champion and Infiniti Global Brand Ambassador, Sebastian Vettel, will be on hand at the Frankfurt Motor Show to unveil the concept of 'his' new company car. Wearing the nameplate 'Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel', the high performance crossover was designed and built for the young German with input from the pointy fingered one himself with the engineers from the Red Bull Racing team providing assistance on the FX's aerodynamics.

Based on the V8-powered FX50S Premium model the new car sees changes made to the engine, suspension and body to turn the Vettel-badged SUV into what is described as 'the lightest, fastest and most aerodynamic FX yet.' Unfortunately Infiniti does not provide details of what these changes might be so we will just have to take its word for it.

Proving that young Seb is just a boy-racer at heart the updates were made to reflect his desire for a 300km/h plaything that he can blast along Germany's unrestricted Autobahn on his days off. The one-off model is also set to feature a custom designed interior, personalised to Vettel's individual tastes. For some reason I am picturing a Lederhosen inspired theme but we will just have to wait until Tuesday 13 September and the Infiniti press conference in Frankfurt to find out for sure.
