Volkswagen up! to cost from €10,800

New baby VW goes on sale in early 2012.

Volkswagen's new baby car, the up!, will cost from €10,800 when it goes on sale in Ireland early next year. The new small car will come with 60- or 75hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engines and will have emissions of less than 90g/km. It will become available with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

There will be three grades of up!, the Take up!, Move up! and High up! There will be an €800 price walk to the Take up! and the High up! will cost less than €13,000.

The VW up! will be available as a three-door only initially, but a five-door version will follow in late 2012. A full electric model will go on sale in 2013.
