This year's Cannonball supercar charity run to circle the country.

The route for the latest Cannonball charity supercar event has been announced, and it's the longest one yet. Set to raise €1.3 million for The HOPE Foundation, the Cannonball will start on the 9th of September in Malahide, Co. Dublin.

Finish line in Trim

From there, the 200-strong supercar convoy will head to Fermoy, Kinsale, Killarney, Galway, Sligo, and Roscommon before finishing in Trim, Co. Meath on Sunday the 11th of September. Along the way, the group will visit locations such as The Blue Haven in Kinsale, the Brehon Hotel in Killarney, The Oslo Bar in Salthill, Co. Galway and Kilronan Castle in Ballyfarnon.

Sponsored by milesPLUS fuel from Circle K, the fleet of supercars will include entries such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maserati.

Child protection homes to benefit

The charity beneficiary for the event is The HOPE Foundation, an Irish Charity doing incredible work with the street children of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) in India. HOPE funds and operates over 60 projects, including 11 child protection homes, a hospital, an ambulance, counselling, food and nutrition, education, healthcare and the restoration of childhoods to children. €1,298,779 has already been raised.

Batman and Spider-Man

The atmosphere of the Cannonball will be amped-up by carnival-style Brazilian dancers, live DJs, bands and festivals. Novelty entries will include cars decked out in the colours of the New York Police Department and the German Polizei, as well as drivers and passengers in cosplay such as Spider-Man, Star Wars, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, cheerleaders, Charlie's Angels, Batman, the Joker and more.

Cannonball was founded by Kildare businessman Alan Bannon and the benefit to the host towns for this event is estimated at €2,567,000 per year. Cannonball is fuelled by milesPLUS from Circle K as the main headline sponsor for 2022. This year's tour sponsor is Apache Pizza, and Cannonball's official partners include Galway Bay Brewery, Manhattan Popcorn, Bonavox, Karl Goodwin Motors, AB Signs, and BMW Ireland.
