Automotive News Europe is reporting that Audi AG wants to double its new-car sales under the brand's Strategy 2020 plan.
According to the report, CEO Rupert Stadler said that they hope to sell more than 2 million cars by 2020. Audi sold nearly 1.1 million cars last year and aims to sell 1.5 million by 2014.
Audi has also decided it will build a vehicle assembly plant in North America and is considering an engine and transmission plant.
