Ireland gets more Skoda Enyaq choice for 2022

Ireland gets more Skoda Enyaq choice for 2022 Ireland gets more Skoda Enyaq choice for 2022
New Enyaqs arriving soon, with ‘improved availability’ promised.

Skoda's all-electric Enyaq has been unsurprisingly popular, and supply of the battery-powered SUV has been limited in Ireland thanks both to production ramp-up, and the inevitable microchip shortage issues. Only 231 Enyaqs were actually sold in Ireland this year, and Skoda could doubtless have sold many more.

New Sportline models coming

Now, though, Skoda Ireland is promising that the availability of Enyaqs will improve in 2022, and that will be bolstered by the arrival of some new models.

First up will be the Enyaq iV 80x, which gets an extra electric motor powering the front wheels for four-wheel drive and 299hp. Think of it as the equivalent of the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX and Audi Q4 e-tron quattro.

Four-wheel drive

The 80x's maximum torque is 425Nm and in Sportline trim, it'll come with an 82kWh battery (77kWh useable) and a one-charge range of 'more than 500km' on the WLTP cycle. It'll do 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds, has a top speed of 160km/h (bit academic for Ireland...) and will cost from €49,894 inclusive of Grants/VRT Rebate and a service and tyre plan.

There will also be an Enyaq Sportline iV which is effectively the '911 Turbo-Look' of the Enyaq range. It will get many of the same sporty styling features as the Enyaq Sportline 80x but will be available with single-motor rear-wheel drive (in either 145hp or 204hp outputs), and with the standard 58kWh (useable) or 77kWh (useable) batteries. Sportline versions get a lowered chassis - by 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear - and a sportier interior with decorative, carbon-style trims, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and seats with integrated headrests.

Styling changes

Styling changes for the Sportline Enyaqs include black design features and large wheels, while high-end models can be had with a backlit grille. The Enyaq Sportline iV 60 starts from €44,942 inclusive of Grants/VRT Rebate and a service and tyre plan.

Commenting on the launch of Sportline models, John Donegan, Skoda Brand Director said: "We are thrilled with the successful launch of our first fully electric vehicle here in Ireland and we are confident the new Enyaq Sportline iV will fuel even further success for the brand. Availability will improve next year, but demand is still expected to be high. To avoid disappointment we would encourage interested customers to contact their local Skoda dealer today."
