Win a passenger ride in MINI WRC car

One fan will get to passenger Chris Meeke in the WRC MINI at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

One lucky fan will win a passenger ride in MINI's WRC car on the 3rd of July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The prize will be up for grabs at a raffle held during the annual glittering ball on Saturday night, and will see the winner catapulted up Goodwood's 1.67-mile loose-surface rally stage in a MINI piloted by British works rally driver Chris Meeke.  Meeke himself will be driving on both the hillclimb and rally stage across all three days of the event.

Dr Kay Segler, Senior Vice President Brand Management MINI, said: "When we were invited to be part of this event, which has a worldwide reputation for being one of the biggest on the motorsport calendar, we were delighted. The affection felt for MINI as a brand is amazing, and I am confident the fans at Goodwood will give it as enthusiastic a welcome as I watched it have on its World Rally Championship debut in Sardinia. We wanted to make it even more special, so we felt giving a prize that money could not buy would be a great start."

The event will give some much needed publicity to the Countryman.  It divided purists when it was chosen for WRC over the standard MINI Cooper, a car that would have more in common with the rallying MINIs of the 1960s.  They wowed fans with their nimble handling and proved a massive success.

Run by Prodrive and officially named the MINI John Cooper Works WRC, the new car uses four-wheel drive and produces 300hp from a 1.6-litre turbo, direct injection engine.
