"Cahersiveen to Carndonagh range capability" touted for new Skoda Enyaq.

Skoda Ireland has announced that the first versions of its all-electric Enyaq iV crossover will arrive in Ireland on June 1st.

Same platform as the VW ID.4

The Enyaq, which is Skoda's first all-electric model to be offered in Ireland (the e-Citigo was never sold here) is based on the same MEB electric car platform as the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 and the Audi Q4 e-Tron.

Extra Enyaqs now available for September

The first pre-bookings went live last November, and almost all of this year's allocation of Enyaqs are now sold out - but Skoda has said that a few, with the 58kWh battery, have become available for September delivery.

The Enyaq will come, as does the VW ID.4, with a choice of two batteries - that 58kWh version with a one-charge range of 412km, or a 77kWh battery with a range of 535km. That's a few km more than the equivalent ID.4, and as Skoda Ireland puts it: "In geographical terms, a one-way trip from Cahersiveen to Carndonagh is achievable when fully charged."

All Enyaq models will come with a vast 13-inch central touchscreen and a digital instrument panel. You'll be able to choose from options such as 21-inch 'Betria' alloy wheels (named after the primary star in the constellation Triangulum Australe, fact fans) and a lineup of 15 option packages; such as the "Light & View Package" that contains LED matrix headlights, dynamic rear indicators and headlamp washers from €1,417.

Hotly anticipated

Commenting on the imminent arrival of the Enyaq iV, John Donegan Brand Director, Skoda Ireland said: "The Enyaq iV has been our most hotly anticipated model since the launch of the KODIAQ. Although there are many electrified vehicles on the market today, very few tick all the boxes. The combination of great range, affordable price and space for all the family are often lacking in competing vehicles, but are delivered in spades by the Enyaq iV. Many customers who reserved their Enyaq iV online back in November will take delivery in July, with the remaining customers taking delivery in the months up to September. I would like to thank them for their confidence and trust in Skoda. We are delighted to have secured a small quantity of additional Enyaq iV 60 versions for delivery in September. They can be secured by contacting your local Skoda dealer. Electric vehicle & home charging grants and incentives of up to €8,321 are guaranteed to the end of this year so I would urge customers to consider their electric future with an Enyaq iV today rather than waiting until 2022".
