Ken Block gets into F1

Ken Block, best known for his stunt driving antics in a rally car, is about to be let loose in an F1 car.

Better known for his always sideways approach to driving, Ken Block is about to "take hooning to a whole new level." So says the American rally driver ahead of his first Formula One test drive.

Block will get his hands on a 2009 Toyota F1 car at the Monza circuit courtesy of Pirelli, the company that supplies all tyres to the Formula One championship. The same company supplies the tyres for Block's Ford rally car and uses the Toyota F1 car to test tyres for the current F1 cars.

On announcing the test session, Block said: "I can't wait to discover Formula One myself. I need to be realistic about what I can do, but I know it's going to be a lot of fun." Given Block's usual drift style, expect to see some tyre-smoking antics.
