Opel offers EV swap

Bought an Opel EV and not happy? Opel will take it back.

For anyone who fancies the idea of switching to electric power, but isn't 100 per cent certain that it's the right move for them, Opel has an interesting offer. If you buy a new electric Corsa-e in January 2021, you can drive it for six months, and if you're not happy with it, Opel will take it back, quibble-free.

Swap for a petrol or diesel model

James Brooks, Managing Director at Leeson Motors said: "Our innovative Take Charge offer is designed for those thinking of switching to electric, who might need a little bit more peace of mind that they are making the right decision. We are absolutely confident that customers will not be disappointed with the excellent new Corsa-e, and we want to give customers an assurance that in six months' time, if they don't love the simplicity of e-mobility, they can opt to come back to their local Opel Dealer and drive away in a petrol or diesel Opel model of equivalent value instead. It really is that easy."

He continued: "We've worked really hard to make the transition to electric as smooth as possible for our customers. Our dealers are equipped with demonstrator models, to allow customers enjoy 24-hour test drives and we've ensured we have ample stock on the ground, available for immediate delivery. Earlier this year we partnered with Energia, Ireland's leading independent energy provider, to offer customers a free home charger and we also introduced a keen, low cost finance at 2.9 per cent APR, to keep the monthly costs down. Add these bonuses to the Opel Take Charge offer, and it really is a very enticing package for those drivers thinking of switching to all-electric motoring."

337km one-charge range

The Corsa-e has a WLTP one-charge range of 337km, and can be quick charged from 0-80 per cent power in 30 minutes from a rapid charging point. The Corsa was named as the Autobest Best Buy Car of Europe 2020 by a jury that includes CompleteCar's Dave Humphreys, and right now Opel has the Corsa-e on offer in SC or Elite trim for €26,814 and €30,150, respectively, inclusive of SEAI grant and VRT relief.

An SC-trim Corsa-e comes with a colour touchscreen with navigation, DAB radio, Apple Car Play/Android Auto, USB connections, lane departure warning with lane assist, speed sign recognition, automatic emergency city braking, hill assist, cruise control with speed limiter, LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, high beam assist, automatic wipers and headlights, rear parking sensors, electric parking brake, electronic climate control and keyless start, along with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster.
