Fiat markets new '500 by Gucci'

Gucci and Fiat tie up with Natasha Poly to promote new special edition Fiat 500.

Advertising for the 'Fiat 500 by Gucci' will appear around the world this month.  The special edition 500 was penned by Gucci creative director Freda Gianni in partnership with Fiat's Centro Stile.

Gianni also conceived the advertising campaign, which was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Rome.  Model Natasha Poly, wearing a one-off black leather ensemble, stars alongside the Fiat.  The idea is that Natasha embodies 'the essence of travelling in style and living life at full speed'.

Single and double page spreads will appear in newspapers and lifestyle magazines over the coming year.

The car has been launched in the year that marks the 90th anniversary of the Gucci brand and 150 years of Italian unification.  The 500 is offered in white or black paint with the red and green 'signature colours of Gucci' in a band under the side windows.  There are brand logos on the wheels, tailgate and door pillars.  Inside there is a velvet-effect dashboard and two-tone leather upholstery.

Customers can register their interest in the 500 by Gucci on a dedicated website until 30th June and the car should be priced at less than €19,000 in Ireland.  Fiat will preview the car in a number of cities - including Paris, London and Tokyo - before the European launch in June.  By the end of the year Fiat will offer the car around the world.
