Is the driving experience a deal-breaker in the Xpeng L03?
The question
I read your test-drive review of the Xpeng L03 and noticed you mentioned a bouncy ride and suspension noise. Was the driving experience disappointing enough to be a deal-breaker?
Additionally, did you have the opportunity to test the autopilot feature, and if so, how was your impression? Given that the vehicle is likely to be priced under €37k, I struggle to find any competitors offering a comparable suite of features within that price bracket.
If not the Xpeng L03 which other car would you recommend in that price range with similar features?

No, the driving experience is not disappointing enough to be a dealbreaker at all. In fact, for a lot of the time, the Xpeng L03 is comfortable, quiet and assured, and it only really shows up any suspension deficiencies during occasions of slightly more enthusiastic driving.
Sadly, we didn't get to test the full Level 3 autopilot as that is not yet widely catered for by European legislation (apart from at lower speeds in Germany and in the Czech Republic) - if you buy the Ultra, with its three Turing AI chips, you're really future-proofing it for the day Level 3 becomes readily available in this region of the world.
The traditional, 'heritage manufacturer' products provide your main alternatives, such as the Kia EV3, Renault Scenic E-Tech and Skoda Elroq, but we appreciate these can be more expensive than the L03 when going toe-to-toe for equipment levels - and none of them can match the AWD Performance's power.
As another Chinese EV alternative with lots of kit and plenty of performance, check out the BYD Atto 3 Evo, which starts from around €40,000.
