Revenue's VRT calculator is rubbish, how do I get an estimate?

Any idea on how we can get a VRT calculation estimate for a car not in the calculator? After trying to use the ‘terrific’ calculator on Revenue's website to no avail, is there a way of getting one elsewhere before the big day arrives?

Hi Neil,
It's frustrating, but there's no official way to get an estimate of the VRT ahead of the inspection with NCTS. In fact, even if you could get the calculator to work as it's supposed to, Revenue clearly states it's only an estimate.
If you send us all the details of the car, we can do our best to produce an estimate for you, but that is all it would be. To do that, we'd need the model year, make, model, trim level, engine details, where the car is being imported from and anything else that might affect its value.
