The E-Class is a lovely executive saloon, no doubt, and the diesel model is still worth a look if you cover lots of motorway mileage and you value being able to travel over 1,000 kilometres between fill-ups. The diesel version's boot is larger than that of the plug-in hybrid as well.

Finally, the E-Class is one of the few cars in the segment still available new with a diesel engine, so while some worry about residual values for diesel cars, the notably reduced demand for such things on the new-car market today means they'll be in short supply on the used market in a few years - which should strengthen values unless legislation or taxation makes them financially unviable.
