Should we buy a new Renault Captur?

Hi,
I'm just about to purchase new car and have more or less decided on the Renault Captur (we've always had Renault Scenics but now can do with smaller car as less childcare).
Is this a good choice for us? We use our car mainly for traveling from Scotland to our daughter in Plymouth - quite a distance, away good 11 hours - and secondly for other family visits of about 200km distance. What is your thinking?

The Captur is a good car and really good value, though that is a lot of driving to do in anything that isn't diesel-powered. So long as you're not the sort of driver that 'pushes on' a lot, the Captur should be relatively efficient, especially the hybrid model.
One thing to check before you commit, however, is that it's refined enough for you at motorway speeds. The Captur is a smaller and cheaper car than your Renault Scenic and hence is not quite as quiet at higher speeds. Insist on a dealer test drive that allows you to assess that, and take note of the wheel size and tyres of the test car as well. The larger wheels of the 'esprit Alpine' model are tempting as they look so good, but they make the car less comfortable and they increase the road noise.
