How does the Aston DB12 S compare with the Vantage S?

Nobody really compares the new Aston Martin DB12 S to the 2026 Vantage S. Is it a lobby couch compared to a chair? The M5 compared to an M3?

Unfortunately, we've not driven the new Vantage S as yet, but can confidently say that the DB12 S is a proper sports car that happens to be usable over long distances. It's not ever soft though.
The current M5 is a big and heavy PHEV that happens to drive brilliantly, though the current M3 is much lighter and purer, undoubtedly the driver's choice. The DB12 S isn't comparable to the M5 at all in that way – both of these cars are V8-engined coupes after all.
