Any duty or VAT on this Skoda Enyaq in the North?

The question

Can I import a 2024 Skoda Enyaq with 21,000 miles on the clock without paying import duty or VAT? It is a NI registration but was a mobility vehicle in Northern Ireland.

Expert answer

Hi John,

So long as you can prove that the car was in use in Northern Ireland via its V5C (the logbook, effectively) – and not just imported there to be sold on – then no duty or VAT should be payable.
