Is VAT due on a motorbike that has been in NI for 10 years?

I am importing a 1976 Honda Goldwing with 46,000 miles on the clock. It has been registered in Northen Ireland for ten years. Is there VAT to paid on it?

Hi Aidan,
So long as you can prove that the bike was registered and used in the North for that time then no, VAT should not be payable on importation.
