Should I get a pre-purchase van inspection?

The question
Do you think a pre-purchase van inspection is a worthwhile investment?
I already have a car check, including finance check, done by Cartell.ie. Some advice suggests it's worthless as they will not be putting van up on a ramp for a thorough inspection.

Hi Nolaigin,
We think it's worth the effort if the van is a lot of money and it is indeed physically checked underneath etc. with a full report.
Alternatively, pay a good, trusted mechanic to do it for you.
