Should I ditch my car after NCT failure?

Hi,
I am in two minds what to do. My car recently failed the NCT and it is going to cost me nearly €1,000 to fix it or should I leave it and buy a new car?

Every car and every situation is different and I don't think we can give you a useful answer based on the information you've provided. I would suggest you discuss the situation with a good mechanic to get their view on your car and whether it's worth investing in it.
