My BMW 525i is overheating; help!

The question
My 2001 BMW 525i is overheating slightly lately (needle goes to 3/4). Especially when I go down steep slants. Then moves back again after a few minutes. The fan has been replaced, two years ago. Any ideas?

Hi Martin,
The first thing to try is to bleed the coolant system. Trapped air could cause such symptoms.
