Hi there,

I'm looking to buy a newer car than my 2007 1.2 Renault Clio. I spend roughly half the week in a small city and the other half in a small country village, about 25 minutes from the nearest town. I do a short motorway trip about twice a week. I'd love something like a Volkswagen Up, but am worried this would be too small and lack enough power for my amount of driving, which is roughly 21,000km per year.

What would you advise?

Hi, my wife just bought a Citroen C4; it is a great car to drive, but when time came to insure the car it went up €280 on last year's insurance on a 2007 Nissan Almera. Both cars are in Group 15 and Citroen C4 is rated as a safer car. Are we missing something here about the C4?

Hi, for the NOx charges and VRT: I have a 2000 Audi A4 quattro that's fairly rare in Ireland. I'm planning to get it changed to Irish plates ASAP. The car has an LPG conversation. Would the LPG affect the NOx charges? It should have lower NOx emissions.

I am planning to buy a 1999 BMW Z3, 52k miles, value £3,390 (Sterling pounds), 2.0-litre automatic. How much is the VRT for this car? I could not find BMW Z3 in the VRT website, only BMW Z4. Will they consider this 1999 Z3 as a classic car?

I'm thinking of buying a 2006 2.0-litre Nissan X-Trail. It's currently taxed commercially; how much would the tax be if I taxed it as a private car?

I'm debating between a 152 VW Passat Trendline BlueMotion Technology with 133,000km and a 2016 Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI Ambition DSG model with 80,000km on the clock. Any feeback would be great.
