Is a second-hand Audi A4 a good buy?
Hi, I've been looking at upgrading my car and have been looking at Audi A4 around 2005/2006. They are all quite high mileage but is this something I need to be concerned about? I have been looking at this one, which seems a good deal and has 79,000 miles on the clock - what do you think? I do roughly 5-7,000 miles per year so not too worried about fuel costs. Is there anything else I should watch out for or take into account?

Ford Mondeo or Ssangyong Kyron?
What car is a better buy: a 2005 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 115hp Zetec estate with 89,500 miles (English import) and a tiny rust patch on roof; or a 2007 Ssangyong Kyron 2.0 XDI 141hp with 147,000 kilometres (Irish car) in good condition? I'm basically looking for a diesel with a big boot and I can get my hands on both of the above.

Should I buy at an auction?
I am a 24-year-old man looking for my first car. I am looking for something of medium size, medium to small engine and a solid car. I was just wondering is it a good idea to go to car auctions or are they a bit of a gamble. Or what could you recommend with a budget of a maximum of €4k?

What small car will I buy?
I'm in serious need of advice! I'm hoping to buy my own car (have full driver's licence and have insurance on home car). My first major dilemma is whether to get petrol or diesel.
I'm living in Dublin and will be commuting to work roughly about 30 mins away with M50. I would be travelling back to "home home" (about every second/third weekend) and that journey would be roughly six hours in total.
My second dilemma is what car to get. I want a good car but also for it to be reasonably small. I'm thinking Volkswagen Polo/SEAT Ibiza/Opel Corsa/Fiat Grande Punto - quite broad I know. My budget would be around €8,000 or €9,000.

Which car to replace my beloved Saab?

I'm looking to replace our '99 Saab 9-3, which has been a great car - now with 206,000 miles on the clock. I'm looking for a safe, reliable family car - four- or five-door - with low tax. I'm contemplating 2008 models to reduce tax - we're currently paying €634. I'm looking at Skoda Octavia, Volvo S40, Volkswagen Passat, Saab 9-3 and Toyota Avensis. I want manual and probably diesel. Which would you advise or are there others to consider?

Which mid-size SUV for €20,000?
What would you recommend in terms of a mid-size 4X4/SUV? Diesel is the preferred option with a sensible tax band a major consideration as well as decent fuel economy. I have circa €20,000 to spend on straight cash deal.

Should I buy a Fiat Croma?
I spend half the year in Ireland, half in the USA. I am being offered a low-mileage fully serviced 2007 Fiat Croma 2.4 turbodiesel for €9,000 with a full service history and the owner says they never had a problem, but there aren't many about (why?). Do you think it's a good deal for me as a 12,000 mile p.a. driver?
