Should all my tyres be the same?

Hi, I recently bought a second hand car and noticed one of my rear tyres is a slightly different size (245/45 R18) to the three other tyres (245/40 R18). I am due an NCT in March; can you tell me if this would contribute to a fail? Are there any other downsides to this? Car rides and handles perfectly.

Thanks, Andy K (Kildare)

Do I need to replace old tyres that appear fine still?

Hi, just wondering what the story is with tyres that are six or more years old. Mine passed in August with pass advisory and my NCT is up in a couple of weeks, but the tread on the tyres isas good as new as it has only done 2,000 miles. Will I need new tyres or will they go by condition of the set I have?

Can you clarify the legislation on tyre pressure monitoring?

I have a question regarding Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems and wondering if you can clarify the EU regulations in regard to this matter. I keep a very keen eye on car specifications and I'm aware that these systems on cars are to be mandatory by a certain date but I can't seem get a definite answer. I notice many cars are including them as standard now and others only offer as an option. It might be worthwhile to inform new car buyers that this should be included as I think very soon they will be on all cars.

Many thanks if you can get to answer this for me.

Can I get a spare wheel for my new Kia Rio?

My new Kia Rio has no full spare wheel. I would be unable to put the contraption left in the boot on if I get a puncture. Can I buy a spare wheel from a scrap yard and will it have to be a Kia Rio wheel?

Thanks

Should I change the tyres on a low mileage Range Rover Sport?

I've found a 2008 Ranger Rover Sport with just 16,000 miles (about 26,000km) on the clock. Is this good? Seems a bit too low. Will the tyres be ok if they have never been replaced? Would they be too old?

What pressure should my BMW M Sport tyres be set to?

I have recently upgraded my alloys on an F10 BMW 520d to 18-inch M Sport 245/45 R18 front and 275/40 R18 on the rear. Can you tell me what the correct tyre pressure should be?
