Can I just say how excited I am about the new Mission: Impossible movie? I'm old enough to remember the original TV series with Steven Hill, Peter Graves, Leonard Nimoy (yes, really) and Martin Landau. The Tom Cruise-starring films have been a bit up-and-down quality-wise (First; great. Second; awful. Third; fine. Fourth; good) but the most recent, fifth installment, Rogue Nation, was terrific and with director Chris McQuarrie returning, the sixth fillm, subtitled Fallout, promises to out-Bond Bond when it comes to entertaining spy action.

Best of all, Mission: Impossible films are generally good for a bit of all-action car spotting and Fallout could be the best yet. Here's what we spotted in the all-action trailer (watch below)...

Here is Sarah Ferguson's character, Elsa Faust, riding a motorbike along a narrow Parisian arcade. More like Esla Fast, amiright? Seriously though, don't try this - it's hugely dangerous.

2. What appears to be a Land Rover Defender in what might be Iceland. Which seems appropriate. Hope they had a HiLux on hand in case it threw a gearbox.

3. More Land Rover Defender action. That's star Cruise with Simon Pegg and the always-reliable Ving Rhames.

4. Not a car, but that's co-star Henry Cavill with what appears to be a bus on his face. No, wait, that's a moustache. As you were.

5. Told you they had a Toyota. Bet the Land Rover blew an O-ring out...

6. Renault Megane police cars (Paris again) and BMW bikes under fire! "Warning - this may invalidate your warranty..."

7. That's an EH 101 Merlin helicopter. Not a car, obvs, but rather awesome all the same.

8. A classic BMW E28 5 Series. This is the big chase scene, through Paris, which is apparently the film's major mid-film set-piece. A huge number of these E28s were, sadly, wrecked in pursuit of what's shaping up to be a classic movie car chase. A moment's silence please...

9. E28 versus bike. Who ya got? Betting begins...

10. A Peugeot 508 taxi swerves to avoid a Cruise collision. Which is ridiculous - Paris taxi drivers never swerve. Death before yielding!

11. More Megane police car action, but this is a Megane II. Don't bother trying to outrun it, Tom, just wait for the electrical system to pack up...

12. More E28 action. On the plus-side, this looks like a proper car chase, light on CGI. On the downside - pretty car and they've broken it.

13. Cruise runs towards a Squirrel helicopter. He'll be dangling from that in a minute, you see...

14. TOLD YOU.

15. SWAT team truck for sale. Low miles. Some water damage to carpets.

16. Whoops. A Peugeot that didn't swerve. A 406 this time. That'll probably buff out, right?

17. Hello, air traffic control? I'm having a small issue with a Scania in the flight path...

Well, that's some pretty smoking hot spy action, isn't it? And easily enough vehicular mayhem to keep us going until the next Bond film comes out. In fact, at this rate, we may not even really need Bond anymore...

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is out in cinemas on July 27th, released by Paramount Pictures.
