Smart 3

Smart arrives in Ireland with the new #3 crossover.

The Smart #3 is a low-slung five-door fastback that Smart insists on calling a crossover. It has really impressive interior space, but the boot is on the small side. Cheapest model uses a lithium-iron phosphate battery (which is cheaper to make than lithium-ion) and gives a 330km range, but the bigger lithium-ion version get 455km. Rear-wheel-drive versions use a 272hp electric motor with excellent performance, while the high-performance Brabus gets Porsche-destroying power from a 428hp two-motor setup, delivering 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Touchscreen is staggeringly annoying to use.
