All-new Mercedes-Benz CLS better value than ever

The new-look Mercedes-Benz CLS has arrived in Ireland, boasting Band B emissions and significant price drops across the range.

An all-new Mercedes-Benz CLS has been launched in Ireland. Retaining the 'four-door coupé' tagline, the new model is much more efficient than before, leading the Band B emissions and considerable price drops across the line-up.

Two diesel models will be marketed here, with a seven-speed automatic gearbox as standard. First up is the CLS 250 CDI, priced at €65,750. CO2 emissions of just 134g/km place it in Band B for road tax. Power output is 204hp

The V6-engined CLS 350 CDI costs €71,700 with Band D CO2 emissions of 159g/km. Peak power is 265hp, which is more than its predecessor's (the CLS 320 CDI), yet the new car is €13,150 cheaper and features more equipment as standard.

Commenting, Mercedes-Benz passenger sales manager, Ciaran Allen, said "The availability of BlueEFFICIENCY across the range enhances its appeal and underpins its market position at a time when green issues and planet-saving technologies are to the fore."

The CLS is the first of six new Mercedes-Benz models arriving in Ireland this year, others being a C-Class facelift and C-Class Coupé (April), SLK (April), B-Class and M-Class (November/December).
