Quietest Rolls yet?

Rolls-Royce is testing the water with a new electric version of the Phantom.

What is it?

It's very much a one-off, but this is the first electric car from Rolls-Royce. The idea is that it offers the same untouchable levels of luxury as the conventional Phantom without any of the emissions.

Why's it here?

The Phantom Experimental Electric (EE for short) is something of a toe in the water for Rolls-Royce. No doubt the luxury firm will gauge public reaction to the car to determine whether or not Rollers of the future will be powered by electricity.

Show stopper or floor filler?

The figures are impressive. The Phantom EE has the biggest battery of any electric car to date, which has enough power to get it to 100km/h in about eight seconds. There's even a 193-kilometre range, while an electric drivetrain perfectly complements the quiet, laid back nature of a Rolls-Royce.
