Henning Dohrn steps into top job at Audi

New Audi Ireland MD takes up his role on August 1st.

What's the news?

Audi Ireland has appointed a new managing director, to replace its current head Christian Gussens. Gussens has been in charge of Audi in Ireland since 2013 and is returning to the head office in Germany to become Regional Director for India, Taiwan & Southeast Asia.

His replacement is Henning Dohrn, who has worked with Audi for the past eight years and has held various positions including sales strategy, used car strategy and international network planning. His most recent role was as Executive Assistant to the Board Member for Sales & Marketing, Dr Dietmar Voggenreiter, and previously Mr Luca De Meo. He holds an MBA from the University of Lüneberg.

Dominique Boesch, Vice President Sales Europe at Audi AG, commented on the appointment: "Audi Ireland has grown into an important market within Europe, delivering sustained results. I would like to thank Christian for his dedicated, successful work over the last three years. As we continue to grow the Audi business, Henning has the expertise, experience and drive to further strengthen Audi's leadership position in Ireland."

Audi is on something of a roll in Ireland. It's currently the top-selling premium brand, and has grown its sales by 22 per cent this year compared to last. More significantly, since Mr Gussens took over in 2013, Audi has grown its sales by a whopping 41 per cent, from 3,700 vehicles in 2013, to 5,224 in 2015.
