Instead, here's news of what else Jeep is doing at the Geneva Motor Show, which is kind of ironic considering that Switzerland was is and always will be neutral, and what we're looking at here is the 75th anniversary of the wartime creation of the original 1/4-tonne truck - the Willys Jeep.
To celebrate this auspicious anniversary, Jeep will be creating 75th birthday editions of all of its current range - Renegade, Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and presumably the new Qashqai rival too - which will feature custom paintwork, 75th anniversary badge, matte-finish bronze alloys, orange inserts, upgraded interiors with the 75th anniversary badge stitched into the seats and a swivel mount for a 0.50-calibre machine gun. We might be joking about the last bit.
Jeep will also parade three classic models, including an original 1941 Willys and a Jeep Wagoneer, at the show as well as an Oculus Rift 3D show of the brand's history. There will also be a Grand Cherokee SRT Night edition, with the stinking 6.4-litre V8 Hemi engine and matte-black touches all over. Menacing.
