AIG launches XLNTdriver smartphone app

Customers to get up to 25 per cent discount on their insurance premium.

AIG has launched a new smartphone app for its customers in Ireland. Called AIG XLNTdriver, the app aims to make AIG customers more responsible drivers and help their finances too, with the help of potential savings of up to 25% on the insurance premium. AIG customers who use the app will be given a 5% discount on the spot, while the remaining 20% can be earned by proving to be a responsible driver, or in other words, scoring high in the app. Available as a free download on both Android and Apple's iOS devices, the app tracks the user's driving and gives it a score between 0-100 depending on how they perform in four key areas: smooth driving, mobile phone usage, speed and time. The more responsible the driver is, the better are their chances of getting that additional 20% discount on the premium.

Anything else?
The app comes with an auto start/stop functionality, which saves the user from manually starting the app every time they set out on a journey. Apart from the benefits, the app also comes with a 'Call Now' feature, that lets users report an accident directly to the claims team. While the initial 5% discount is given on spot, the remaining discounts of up to 20% can be availed of only after three months of usage.
