Land Rover has released the first images of its DC100 concept - essentially the next Defender. We'll see it in the metal at Frankfurt and it paves the way for the new production version of the Defender in 2015.
We don't know much about it yet, other than the fact that it looks very futuristic and a bit like a Skoda Yeti. If a similar version is going to bear the Defender name in future, then it will have to be unstoppable off-road, too.
The project was led by Land Rover's Director of Design, Gerry McGovern. He said: "This isn't a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century."
