ZuCar to open second car supermarket in Limerick

Joe Duffy Group expands its car supermarket brand.

ZuCar will open its second facility this month in Limerick. The supermarket-style car retailer focuses on providing a "stress-free" buying experience for customers, with fixed-pricing and a five-day money-back guarantee. It plans to have more than 100 cars on display along with a coffee shop and what it calls a 'consumer research bar'. A selling approach that it describes as being 'here to help, not to hound' may be welcome news to buyers often deterred by aggressive selling techniques and follow-up calls. Customers are invited to test drive as many cars as they like.

As well as selling from its used stock, ZuCar uses an analytical appraisal system for valuing potential trade-ins to try to offer more competitive prices for customers. The company will also buy your vehicle directly, and offers made are valid for five days.

All used cars are accompanied by a vehicle history check, multi-point inspection and the option to purchase different warranty options of up to 24 months. ZuCar also offers fixed rate finance.

Commenting on the announcement, Barry Higginbotham, ZuCar General Manager, said: "We are looking forward to inviting customers to experience our unique and stress-free used car buying and selling service. Our transparent and fixed pricing no-haggle promise will ensure that their experience is enjoyable, efficient, and most importantly, offers great value, and top-quality used cars. The concept is different from beginning to end, and we invite everyone to pop in to see for themselves. Customers can browse at their leisure with no hard sell or a salesperson following them around the showroom. We will also buy cars, even if the customer doesn't want to buy one of ours! There is no hard sell, and we don't pay commission to our sales team. We can also offer ZuCar Finance. This is also great news for Limerick as we hope to generate local jobs as the business grows."
