Classic bikes to join cars at Mondello show

Bikes to feature at the 2011 Mondello Park Live Show in June.

This year's Mondello Park Live Show will see a Classic Motorcycle area and Classic Motorcycle Racing join the show's customary classic car displays.

Entering its fourth year, the event will feature exhibits from The Irish Classic Racing Association and the Dunboyne Motor Club, which will be shown in an area of the paddock dressed to match the era of the exhibits.  The display will include a number of bikes of important Irish historical interest.

Out on track, there'll be races featuring famous riders like six times Manx GP winner Chris McGahan and Dave Madsen Mygdal, who has more TT starts than any other rider.

For lovers of four wheels, the MG Midget will celebrate its 50th birthday, while the MG Enthusiasts club celebrates its 30th.  MG Midgets will feature in both static displays and parade laps and will join - what organisers hope will be - the biggest ever gathering of MGs in Ireland.

The show will feature its usual blend of demonstration races for historic racing cars, high speed laps for performance classics and parade laps open to any of the show's visitors.  The Paddock will have static displays by car clubs and individual owners and an area will be set aside for trade stands and Autojumblers.

The one-day show will takes place on the 19th of June, with booking for clubs, individuals and high speed track sessions being taken now.  More information can be found on www.Mondellopark.ie, or by phoning 045 860 200.
