Tiff's book launched

Not quite as controversial as The Stig's book, but Tiff's should be still worth a read.

Ben Collins may have revealed himself as The Stig in his autobiography, but Tiff Needell is the only man who can claim to have filled the infamous Top Gear tame racing driver's Alpinestars boots. In his very own autobiography, Needell reveals the full story behind his rise as a racing driver and the stories behind his television career.

From starting out as an impoverished racer who won a racing car in a competition, to competing in Formula One, Needell tells it straight. He also details his 14 Le Mans starts and a 200mph (320km/h) accident at the French circuit that he miraculously walked away from.

With a racing career spanning 40 years and more than 20 years' of television under his belt, Needell even earns a warm introduction from Jeremy Clarkson. Called Tiff Gear: The Autobiography of Tiff Needell is published by Haynes (ISBN: 978 0 85733 089 5).
