Audi A5 Irish prices and specification

SE and S line trims available, plus a special edition ‘Launch Pack’.

What's the news?

Audi has released prices for the slinky-looking new A5 Coupe, which will kick off from €47,510 when the order books open mid-November.

That €47k will get you a 190hp 2.0-litre TFSI petrol in SE specification. The most affordable diesel model is the 190hp 2.0-litre TDI, also in SE spec, for €50,100. You can also choose from 252hp 2.0-litre TFSI petrol and 218hp 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel engines.

Only SE and sportier S line trims will be available at first, but they won't lack for toys. The SE model includes Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED rear lights and an LED interior light pack. You'll also get an Audi MMI navigation system with seven-inch colour display, Bluetooth and USB charging functionality, smartphone interface for iOS and Android devices and a three-month free trial of Audi Connect, Audi's online, in-car internet.

In addition to this standard equipment, the S line model includes premium features such as LED headlights, leather-upholstered seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, 18-inch alloys and sports suspension.

You can get the all-digital Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument pack as an option on both models, and there's also the option of semi-autonomous adaptive cruise control. For early adopters, an exclusive launch edition pack will be available for the A5. Priced at €1,850, this pack contains a panoramic sunroof, privacy glass and a wheel upgrade (18-inch on SE and 19-inch on S line models).

While the A5 is clearly closely related to the new A4 saloon, Audi has made some adjustments to the grille and added some dramatic bulges and lines to the bonnet, not to mention finding weight-savings of up to 85kg overall.

Henning Dohrn, Managing Director of Audi Ireland, said the all-new A5 Coupe: "is a great example of 'Vorsprung Durch Technik', our commitment to innovation. The A5 Coupe is a stunning example of Audi's expertise in design, engineering and cutting-edge technology. We are confident that the new model will resonate with Irish customers looking for an exciting driving experience in the premium coupé segment."

While you can order your A5 from November onwards, first deliveries to Irish customers will have to wait until early 2017.
