Evoque Convertible made worse by Hamann

Rag-top Range Rover further ruined by tuning specialist.

What's the news?

OK, you're all on fair warning. I'm going to need to vomit at some point during this news piece, so keep a bucket handy. Ready? OK...

First off the only, and I mean only, Land Rover product on which it is acceptable to have a convertible roof is a Series 1 or a Series III lightweight. Got that? Right, so it's clear then that the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is an abomination unto Wilkes, and clearly designed as a cash-grab from the witless denizens of Dubai. Hateful.

Now though, the standard factory car is only the second most hateful convertible Evoque because we now have this dreadful tuned and tweaked Hamann version. Oh god, look at the body kit... Urgh... Pass the bucket...

Ah, that's better. Now then, Hamann has tweaked the 2.0-litre 180hp Ingenium turbo diesel engine to produce 210hp and 480Nm of torque, climbs of 30hp and 60Nm respectively, and has also had a go at the 2.0-litre petrol turbo, cranking that up to 260hp and 395Nm. The car gets tweaked suspension, bigger wheels (mono block items offered in 22-inch size with a variety of finishes) and that chunky, awful bodykit with the big front bumper, two-part grille, extra air intakes, black-finished exhaust system and more.

Hamann says that "it is a matter of honour to also create an exclusive package for the convertible, which comprises attachment parts performance kits, wheels and accessories to provide an attractive alternative to the standard versions." Honour? Oh bloody hell, pass the bucket again...
