Zoom in to Bentley Mulsanne with Gigapixel image

Take a broad view or explore the minutest detail of the Bentley Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase.

What's the news?

Bentley has taken technology developed by NASA to create an eye-catching image of the new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The interactive photograph allows the viewer to zoom from 700 metres away right into the stitching on the 'Winged B' logo on the passenger seat.

Consisting of 53 billion pixels the photograph was generated by taking over 700 individual shots and digitally 'stitching' them together. The same technique was used on the Mars Rover to generate panoramic images of the Martian landscape. If reproduced in standard print format Bentley's picture would be the size of a football field.

Kevin Rose, Bentley's Board Member for Sales and Marketing, said; "Nowhere is Bentley's famed attention to detail better demonstrated than with our new Mulsanne. We wanted to commission this shot to capture both the exquisite detailing of the Mulsanne and the epic scale of our brand's ambitions. We believe the result is truly extraordinary."

As for the Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase model itself, Bentley promises a 'first class air-travel experience for the road'. Aimed at customers who prefer to be driven, there is 250mm of extra length to create more room in the back of the car. The passengers benefit from airline style electronic leg rests, integrated into the bases of the individually sculpted rear seats. A console separates the chairs and includes cup holders, USB ports plus a glass covered stowage area.

Electric curtains are fitted as standard to provide privacy to those in the rear, while a large glass sunroof over the back seats ensures a plentiful supply of natural light to the cabin (and an Alcantara blind is fitted if the occupants prefer to remain in the shade).
