MINI revives the 7 badge for new special edition

New colours and extra trim for latest MINI Seven.

What's the news?

MINI is digging deep into its back catalogue for its latest special edition model, the MINI Seven. The badge refers both to the original 1959 Austin Seven, which became the Mini (thanks to its identical Morris-badged Mini Minor sister), but also to the original Austin 7 of the 1920s - Austin's affordable answer to the Ford Model T.

This one is a bit less spartan than that original however. Outside, there are silver door mirror caps, silver roof and 17-inch alloy wheels, the Seven is finished in striking Lapisluxury Blue - "the most intensive blue tone ever applied to a MINI" according to the factory. You can also have British Racing Green, Pepper White or Midnight Black.

Inside you get a unique 'Diamond Malt Brown' finish to the part-leather upholstery, the 6.5-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate and some option packs specially tweaked for the Seven, including LED headlights.

The MINI Seven will get a public premiere at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, though MINI's Irish dealers are ready to take orders now. Prices start at €27,090 on-the-road for the MINI 3-door Seven or €28,270 for the MINI 5-door Seven.
