Audi A6 to cost from €42,500

Both the 2.0-litre TDI and 3.0-litre TDI manual versions of the new Audi A6 will have Band B road tax.

Audi's new A6, which goes on sale in Ireland in April, will cost from €42,500. The new model will be available with a choice of two diesel and two petrol engines.

The diesel choices will include the 2.0-litre TDI, which will make up the majority of sales with 177hp and front-wheel drive. With emissions of 129g/km it will reside in motor tax Band B.

There will also be a six-cylinder 3.0-litre TDI engine, which will have 204hp and a Multitronic automatic gearbox - or you can have a quattro version with 245hp. The latter will come with the S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. These will cost from between €50,700 and €56,900.

Petrol fans will be able to choose between a 204hp 2.8-litre FSI V6 for €47,820, a quattro S-Tronic SE version for €50,770 and a 3.0-litre V6 300hp quattro S-Tronic SE for €62,750.
