What's the news?
Nissan is looking at ways premium design themes could be applied to its crossover range with the Qashqai Premium Concept and X-Trail Premium Concept. Aimed at different customers the Qashqai is designed for the 'Premium Urbanite' while the 'Premium Adventurist' will choose the X-Trail. Both concepts share certain design themes with a colour palette that contrasts black and white with golden copper. Both cars will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
Exterior
The Qashqai is painted matt black with golden copper used to highlight exterior details; carbon fibre is used on the lower part of the body and 20-inch machined alloy wheels are fitted.
For the X-Trail white paint contrasts with a matt black carbon fibre bonnet and roof. As with the Qashqai golden copper accents are used, including the front skid plate.
Interior
Inside the Qashqai white Nappa leather upholstery is fitted, plus carbon fibre trim with a golden copper weave. The steering wheel and gear shift get satin chrome and 'liquid gloss black' trim.
For the X-Trail's interior a natural tan and black colour scheme is supposed to reflect the car's appeal to adventurous customers. There is Ultrasuede with gold pearl leather piping on the central section of the seat back and base while the door trims and dashboard get carbon fibre and matt chrome trim.
Anything else?
Currently these are just concepts but Nissan says it is exploring a new level of personalisation for the crossover sector. It is possible that the paint and trim options shown here will eventually be available to order.
