BMW 2 Series Convertible gets M Performance

Get the M car look for your BMW 2 Series drop top.

What's the news?

You may not be able to get a BMW M2 Convertible (yet), but thanks to the M Performance Parts catalogue you can at least get some of the components from BMW's M division.

Ok they are predominantly styling parts, with the exception of a 14hp power increase for the 220d model (taking it from 190- to 204hp), but who doesn't like the opportunity to individualise their car? Available from the accessories list are beefier side skirts and some tasty M Performance accent strips, a rear diffuser and exclusive front grille with a black trim surround. Window caps can be ordered in carbon fibre as too can exhaust tops and then of course there are the alloy wheels.

Two flavours of 19-inch rims are available; the regular 405 M or the 624 M, which can be ordered in either a bi-colour (matt black/milled) or a polished design.

Interior

The interior of the 2 Series Convertible can also benefit from some M Performance accessories with Alcantara available for the gearshift lever (on manual cars), the handbrake and steering wheel. The centre console, armrest and interior trim pieces can be had in carbon fibre while the mixed Alcantara/carbon fibre steering wheel can be specified with or without an integrated Race Display.

To complete the look buyers can order stainless steel pedal covers and illuminated sill plates that show the M Performance logo.

Anything else?

BMW launched the M Performance Parts catalogue for the 2 Series Convertible at this year's Detroit Auto Show. First sight of the BMW M2 is expected before the end of 2015.
