Mondello confirms return of Formula Ford race series

'Champion of Mondello' winner to get Brands Hatch prize.

What's the news?
Mondello Park has confirmed the return of Formula Ford racing by introducing its 'Champion of Mondello' race series to the Kildare racing circuit. Starting this weekend on 16th March, the Championship will be run in parallel with the existing Irish Championship. There is already good interest in the series after a trial day that took place in late 2013. We hear at the time of writing that existing Mondello drivers have made commitments to race in the new series.

The race series will held over four dates during 2014, with the two of these - March and August - being exclusively for the 'Champion of Mondello' series. The remaining two will count towards both the new series and the existing Irish Championship. Plus, to ensure the series attracts the best existing and new driving talent, both races will be offering double points for competitors.

Added too, is the promised live streaming of Sunday race events on Mondello.TV and an attractive prize chest. For the winner, a Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival prize package is on offer. This comprises of all costs - ferry travel, event entry, a test day and a set of Avon tyres being covered for the victor. There are also race day vouchers for all Championship winners to be used during 2015.

Anything else?
Mondello will poignantly remember its own when the 'Vivion Daly Trophy' will be run in June. Daly became one of Ireland's most distinguished racing drivers and made his name in Formula Ford. To find out more log on to www.mondellopark.ie.
