New Kia Sportage to cost from €27,800

Kia’s all-new Sportage compact SUV arrives in Ireland this October.

Kia has announced pricing and specification details for its new Sportage, ahead of its arrival in Irish showrooms next month (October). There will be two diesel engines (115- and 136hp) and three trim levels (EX, GSE and the 'First Edition'). All variants feature active safety functions such as VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and HAC (Hillstart Assist Control) – while DBC (Downhill Brake Control) limits speed to just 8km/h on steep descents. Six airbags and active head restraints are also standard across the range.

A 2.0-litre diesel 'First Edition' will be offered from launch with a price of €31,495. This exclusive launch model has 18-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel drive, reverse mirror with colour camera and its 136hp engine is in tax Band D.

The 115hp 1.7-litre diesel will follow in December and this engine will be offered in both EX and GSE trim guises and will be two-wheel-drive. Emissions of 139g/km means it sits in tax Band B with annual road tax of €156. The entry-level EX model includes as standard: 17-inch alloy wheels, half leather upholstery, privacy glass, front and rear electric windows, Bluetooth, cruise control, air conditioning, a sunroof and front fog lamps. GSE trim adds Xenon lights, full leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control and heated seats front and rear. Available options include a satellite navigation system and parking assist, an automatic manoeuvring system.
