Aston Martin celebrates 100 years

Loads planned in 2013 for Aston Martin's centenary

The 15th January 2013 will officially mark the 100th birthday of Aston Martin; and the company is hosting a variety of events to celebrate the occasion.

On the day itself, the oldest surviving Aston - A3 - will sit alongside the latest Vanquish for a photo-shoot, before an Aston Martin Memorial Lecture takes place in London.

As well as this, Aston is hosting a week-long centenary festival from 15th - 21st July next year at the company's Gaydon headquarters in England; featuring activities such as driving tours. These will include visits to numerous James Bond locations throughout England and Wales and a six-day rally that will take participants through six European countries.

At the end of the week, a 1,000-guest 'Birthday Party' will take place in London, featuring a very exclusive 100-model concourse show. The event is a joint collaboration between the Aston Martin Heritage Club and the Aston Martin Owners Club.

Aston Martin has also created a new logo to mark the company's 100-year anniversary.

During the company's first 90 years, Aston produced a little over 15,000 cars. Since then, under Ulrich Bez, Aston claims to have sold 45,000 models to 146 dealerships in 41 countries worldwide. The DB9 and Vanquish are the latest models.
